So this is Cyclone Yasi. It is, at the moment, hitting the coast of North Queensland. It’s a category 5 (which is equivalent to a category 12 hurricane) and the same size as Hurricane Katrina. It’s expected to have winds 50km/hr faster though. The second picture there is the size of the cyclone compared to the size of the U.S.. It’s massive.
Family of the girl I love lives in that area… not cool…
